Welcome back to Rigs We Dig, our monthly series highlighting the people behind thoughtfully built adventure vehicles. This month, we're featuring our new rig: a 2026 Toyota Tundra paired with a Tune Outdoor M1 camper, built for event hauling, overlanding, truck camping, and long days exploring public lands. Outfitted with all the HEST products, practical storage, off-grid power, and everything needed for long event days, this Toyota Tundra camper setup balances capability with comfort. It's a truck built to go farther, stay longer, and make every night outside feel a little more like home.

Your Name: HEST
Location: Seattle, WA
Rig Nickname: We haven't nicknamed our Tundra yet. Suggestions welcomed!
Make & Model: Toyota Tundra Limited Crewmax 5.5 Tundra TRD Off Road with Tune M1
Year: 2026
HEST products: All of them ;) The Dually (Queen) fits perfectly in our Tune M1
What made you choose the Tundra as your base?
Can you give us a top highlight overview of your buildout and its key features?
What were your main goals or priorities when designing and building your rig?
Comfort and rest were top priorities, but since this rig mainly supports our events, durability and function mattered just as much. We needed off-grid power (solar, fridge, Starlink) to handle long event days without missing a beat and we need plenty of space and organization for our event gear.
What were some of the biggest challenges you faced during the build process?
Getting the Tundra road-ready meant prioritizing what made the cut for phase 1. We look forward to spending more time with this rig and fine-tuning the gear we carry.
How many dollar signs on a scale of 1 to 5 is your build (5 being the highest)?
$$$
What products, brands, or upgrades are you most excited about in your rig?
Our first upgrade was the Nomad wheels and Firestone 37" tires which changed the whole look of this truck! Tune Molle panels add extra storage, with GraylG-mod pouches holding small supplies and a water purifier always on hand.
Decked Payloader bins keep gear organized in the truck bed, while Rollercam tie-downs keep everything secure on the road.
A Dometic solar panel keeps our Travoca power station charged, running the fridge and Starlink Mini.
The Reign Outdoor 270 Awning gave us shade at our NW Overland Rally and Overland Expo PNW booths, plus a relaxing hangout zone with our Foamy Camp Chairs.

Are there any features or upgrades you wish you had added (or done differently)? (For example, changes in layout, better materials, or omitted products)
We’re just getting started! The Tundra is off to the races and we’re excited to dial in the best setup for our needs.
What’s one feature in your rig that you’ve learned you cannot live without?
Definitely the HEST Dually Queen mattress. Our team understands the need for good rest while we travel for events.
How much time and effort did the entire process take, and was it worth it? (Time from planning to completion and lessons learned)
This was very much a phase 1 build: we moved quickly to get road-ready for NW Overland Rally and Overland Expo PNW, installing the Tune in Colorado and driving back to the PNW for back-to-back event weekends. The Tundra debuted its new HEST wrap at both shows and has already become an essential part of our booth setup, supporting our team on the road at events.Do you have any advice for someone just starting their overland rig build? (Tips, tools, or key things to keep in mind)
Design around how you want to feel outdoors. We believe if you sleep well outdoors, you’ll enjoy the experience even more. We built the Tundra around comfort first, then let the storage and gear choices follow, only adding what we knew we’d actually use rather than over-building before we truly got to use it.
